Pet-Friendly Parks & Recreation

Pet-Friendly Parks & Recreation
Indian Rocks Beach is a pet-friendly community and offers a leash-free city dog park  which is a great place for social dogs to play & owners to meet like-minded friends.
Pinellas County Parks & Recreation also offers several lovely parks throughout the county that are dog-friendly. The Pinellas County Trail is also pet-friendly and a great way for you and your canine friend to take in some sites (and sniffs) and get some quality exercise.
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed on most Pinellas County public beaches. Thankfully, The Belleair Causeway dog beach is just a couple of miles from Indian Rocks Beach, so owners and their pets can enjoy some quality beach-time together during their visit. The Ft. Desoto Park also boasts a pet-friendly beach as well.
Doggie Dining
Indian Rocks Beach Officials OK'd the Doggie Dining ordinance for establishments within the City that have outdoor decks, patios or garden areas. Read more about it here.
Veterinary Care
We know you and your pet will enjoy the time you spend together in Indian Rocks Beach and hope that your visit is a happy and healthy one... Unfortunately, sometimes our pets can become a bit stressed during travel and may show signs of feeling a bit under-the-weather. No need to worry, we have two excellent Veterinary Hospitals nearby, if needed:
Indian Rocks Animal Hospital
Bluffs Animal Hospital
Pet Safety During Travel
For your pet's safety, please make sure your pet has a current Identification Tag on their collar (before traveling). We have found several dogs wandering in our neighborhood over the years, that have somehow gotten separated from their owners after a move or while on vacation. It was their ID tags that made it possible for us to reunite them with their owners. If by chance you become separated from your pet while in Pinellas county, you may want to contact the following local agencies for help in locating them:
Pinellas County Animal Services
SPCA Tampa Bay
Humane Society of Pinellas
Indian Rocks Animal Hospital
Bluffs Animal Hospital
