Indian Rocks Beach offer many options when it comes to accommodations & lodging. Whether you are traveling alone, with a pet, or with a large group; accommodation options are plentiful. From small cottages to large luxury homes, Indian Rocks Beach has it all.

 Location Options

"Directly on the beach" - Accommodations that are located on the west side of Gulf Blvd. and are just steps to the beach, and many times offer a view of the Gulf of Mexico. These accommodations are usually at the higher-end of the price range for lodging in Indian Rocks Beach. While it is nice to be "on the beach", keep in mind that you may also be "on Gulf Blvd.", which may cause you to experience some traffic noise, during our busier times of the year.

"Walk to the beach" - Accommodations that are located on the east side of Gulf Blvd. and are just a block or few from the beach ( most blocks in IRB are smaller than an average city block). These accommodations can be a bit more budget-friendly (with less traffic noise), depending on the distance from the beach and the type of accommodations and amenities offered at the property.

"On the Intercoastal waterway" - Accommodations that are located on the east side of Gulf Blvd. and may or maynot be within walking distance to the beach; but many times have private access to the intercoastal waterway from the back yard of the property - usually with a private dock on the water. These accommodations have a wide range of pricing depending on the type of home, distance from the beach, ameneties, etc.

"Close to the beach" - Accommodations that are on the barrier island and within the city limits, but may be considered too far for most people to comfortably walk to the beach, with all of your beach gear. These accommodations are generally only a 4 or 5 minute drive to the nearest public beach access which many times offers free public parking spaces (if not, you can park across Gulf Blvd. on a side street for free, and walk across the street to the beach). These accommodations are usually a bit more budget friendly than some of the other options listed above (depending on the type of lodging, amenities, etc.).

The Different Types Of Accommodations Available In Indian Rocks Beach

Hotels

Hotels are formally defined as: "a commercially run establishment providing lodging and usually meals for guests, and often containing a public bar." In the past hotels were not generally known for being pet-friendly but many hotels have changed their policies - so if you are traveling with a pet don't rule out the possibility of staying at a pet-friendly hotel.

Motels

Motels are formally defined as: "an establishment that provides lodging for motorists in rooms usually having direct access to an open parking area or garage." Many of the small motels in Indian Rocks Beach are privately owned with the owners residing on-site or nearby and are also commonly referred to as "cottages", because they are small, stand-alone homes with parking areas located just outside your front door. Many of the Motels in IRB are pet-friendly so they are a good choice for visitors traveling with pets. 

Condominiums

Condominium (Condo) is formally defined as: "A building or complex in which units of property, such as apartments, are owned
by individuals and common parts of the property, such as the grounds and building structure, are owned jointly by the unit owners." While this hold true for many of the condominiums in Indian Rocks Beach, it is also somewhat common for a company to own all of the units in the entire condominium building as well as the grounds. That being stated, be sure to know who you are renting your unit from (the private individual owner, the company owner, or a property management company), that way you will know who is ultimately responsible if you encounter any problems during your stay. Some condos in IRB are small- pet-friendly so if you are traveling with your pet be sure to inquire with the condo owner to find out if your pet is welcome.

Vacation Homes For Rent By Owner

A Vacation Home For Rent By Owner are exactly what they say they are; second or additional homes owned by individuals who do not live in the home full-time but maintain the home with all of the amenities as if they did. Sometimes these are homes that the owner uses occasionally as a vacation or holiday home with the remainder of the time being available for rental to others. Other times, these homes are owned by local residents (usually in tourist towns) who offer them as accommodations for visiting friends and family, with the remainder of the time being available for rentals to others. These homes are quite popular with families as they offer a bit more freedom when traveling with children or pets.

Timeshare

Timeshare is formally defined as: "A form of joint ownership of property under which as many as 52 owners, either singly or severally, receives the use of the property, condominium, or other property for a specified period each year, such as one or more weeks." Some Timeshares allow owners to sub-let their time to others if they are unable to use it in a given year (when renting a Timeshare be sure that the owners are allowed to legally rent to you as a third party). Timeshares are generally comparable to condominiums or apartment rentals and usually offer amenities such as a pool or workout room. Most timeshares are not pet- friendly so be sure to inquire (if you plan to travel with your pet) before you book your stay. 

Bed & Breakfast Inns

Bed & Breakfast is formally defined as: "A private house that provides accommodations and meals for paying guests".
