|
Indian Rocks Beach is a small, quiet "hidden treasure" town of about 4,000 full-time and part-time residents, located on a barrier island off the West Coast of central Florida in Pinellas County.
Indian Rocks Beach tends to be a quieter, less crowded and more laid-back and family friendly atmosphere than its Clearwater Beach neighbor to the north, yet has just as many advantages. Indian Rocks Beach has wide, white sand beaches perfect for swimming, sunning, shelling, surfing and snorkeling. In addition to the beautiful beach, there are several great lodging options, excellent restaurants, live entertainment, and a variety of shopping choices in town. Indian Rocks Beach is home to the Beach Art Center and hosts two Arts and Crafts Festivals each year, usually in the months of November and April. Check out the Indian Rocks Beach Events Listing page or our local Newspaper to see what's happening during your visit. You can also check out the City of Indian Rocks Beach website for more information about our local government. You are just a few miles to the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary, Clearwater Marine Aquarium and Clearwater Beach's famous Pier 60. For your convenience, the Pinellas Suncoast Beach Trolley takes you all the way from Clearwater Beach to St. Petersburg Beach, with the entire route marked by colorful "Fish Mile-Markers" all along the way... view the "Fish Mile-Marker Map" for the Pinellas Gulf Beaches. Indian Rocks Beach is also conveniently located just 40 minutes from the Tampa International Airport (TIA) and 25 minutes from St. Petersburg International Airport (PIE).
Tampa's Busch Gardens theme park is just 45 minutes away and an hour and a half drive takes you to Orlando theme parks such as Disney World, Epcot Center and Seaworld.
Maybe you'd rather go golfing? There are plenty of local Golf Courses to keep you busy. There's also a nice selection of Miniature Golf Courses nearby for the kids to enjoy: Smuggler Cove in Indian Shores, Congo River and Celebration Station in Clearwater - Just to name a few.
If you're a sports enthusiast you might want to take-in a local sporting event while you are here...
If you're a baseball fan you may want to attend a game at Brighthouse Networks Field, located about 12 miles north-east of Indian Rocks Beach, in Clearwater. Bright House Networks Field is family-friendly and home to the Clearwater Threshers, the Phillies' Class A affiliate in the Florida State League, and Major League Baseball's 2008 World Series Champions - the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies currently hold their spring training here. Bright House field is equipped with 7000 fixed seats and grass berm seating which will accommodate an additional 1500 fans. Additional features of the park include Frenchy's tiki-pavilion, group picnic areas, party suites, children's play area and state-of-the-art video scoreboard.
Or maybe you want to head south (about 20 miles) to St. Petersburg for some cool indoor baseball at Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Rays.
A short (30 mile) jaunt across the Bay to Tampa, will provide you with hours of entertainment at Raymond James Stadium, home of the National Football League's - Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa is also home to the National Hockey League's - Tampa Bay Lightning (commonly referred to as "The Bolts"). Lightning games are held at the St. Pete Times Forum.
So, for a quiet, relaxing beach vacation, with easy access to other major Florida tourist attractions, Indian Rocks Beach is a perfect choice... and Indian Rocks Rentals has the perfect accommodations for your Gulf Coast vacation!

Ride the Beach Trolley...
Our Indian Rocks Beach vacation rentals are all conveniently located and within walking or bike-riding distance to: shopping, dining, live entertainment, parks, tennis, fishing, churches, hair/nail/massage salons, public boat launch, and the Beach Trolley stop.
For your convenience, we offer 2 adult beach cruiser bicycles and a couple of 2-person kayaks; available for your use during your stay with us. The Beach Trolley is equipped with a bicycle carrier, and is a great way to get out and explore some of the neighboring beach towns or nearby mainland towns, via the Pinellas Trail.
Indian Rocks Beach has several lovely parks scattered throughout the city. All of the parks are located within walking or bike-riding distance of our rental homes. Pack your picnic basket and spend the day exploring all of the wildlife that call these parks their home. Many of our parks have covered pavilions with picnic tables. Or maybe you prefer to dine under a large oak tree, or to enjoy your meal on a sunny dock overlooking the intracoastal waterway? Whatever your preference or desire, we have a park nearby that will exceed your expectations! The sights, sounds and smells of these wide-open outdoor spaces are sure to calm the nerves and provoke a peaceful, relaxed state-of-mind.
You don't need to "stay on the beach" to "play on the beach". All of our rental homes are just a few minute stroll from their front doors, to having your toes in the warm white sand and crystal blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The City of Indian Rocks Beach maintains 27 beach access parks located all along the main Gulf Blvd. corridor. Four of our homes are just 7 houses away from the 20th Avenue beach access park, one is beachside and has private beach access, and the other is just a few minute stroll to the 17th Avenue beach access park. Limited parking spots are available at these accesses, and if you choose to drive, the trip takes about one-minute.
Take-In the Sights...
Our rental homes are surrounded by the intracoastal waterway to the east, and the Gulf of Mexico to the west. Our kayaks are a great way to get-out on the water and see the city from a different perspective. Take some time and paddle to one of the nearby spoil islands for bird watching, or grab your fishing license and a pole, and head-out past the Gulf buoys for some nearby-off-shore fishing.
Looking for a faster-paced option? Then you might want to rent a boat or waverunner for the day. Or maybe you don't want to be the captain... then you might want to consider taking a sunset dinner cruise. Whatever your preference; you'll find what you're looking for, in IRB!
